Blog vs. Forum

Last night, after a heavy day filled with blog-building (i.e. this one), I took a break with my man and we went for a drink. I spent a long while explaining to him what all the web2.0 fuss was about, and why it was important to me to get this blog up and running fast.

The biggest reason was that the site was suddenly lacking interactivity. Some of you may have noticed that the forum quietly disappeared last week. This is because my six-month account on the forum host expired, and I was hesitant to renew it given the rather dismal response rate. So I started to investigate the blogosphere, and quickly realized to my delight that it was far more robust as a source of interactivity than the forum. (Yes, I’m a little slow on the uptake, but once I uptake it then there’s usually no turning back.)

So as I begin to settle into a routine of daily (or near-daily) posts, I’m hoping that my constant presence here, necessitated by the journalling aspect of this format, will encourage others to join in and see what’s going on. As each photoset is uploaded to the site, I’ll also upload to this blog the pure text, which has the added benefit of making the entire Erotica Chronicles corpus suddenly searchable, as well as interactive.

I’m looking forward to the learning curve here, as well as the opportunity to develop a regular “feedership”. Cheers…
