Apologia

Friends,

I’m a little frustrated, and I suspect you are too, because I haven’t updated the Sir Richard Wadd website in quite some time. There is, for those who may be wondering, a photoset currently in the works, but it’s a big one (at least 50 photos) and thus is requiring far more energy to complete than is currently available in my mortal reserves. Additional delays were caused by the massive drive to get The Sacred Antinous onto its feet and launched, and then, of course, the holidays.

Arguably, all of this excuse-making is a rather lame attempt to justify why the latest photoset has been so slow in coming. But given that the new year has come with its daunting array of “legitimate” projects that, like spoiled, snot-nosed children, are each demanding their personal attention, I daresay that I have no other recourse but to embrace that lameness in its entirety. Which is to say: The new photoset is still some ways off.

And yet… and yet… to Sir Richard I am determined to return. Yesterday I placed into the post my application for the 2007 Fringe Festival of Toronto, and am hoping that my production company will be among those selected, by lottery, to participate. If so, Sir Richard Wadd, Topographer will be making its world premiere in July. The lottery will occur sometime later this month. Until then, all I can do is wait…

Such is the news, and I’m sorry there isn’t more. I ask and am eternally grateful for your continued patience as I struggle to rediscover some SRW focus.

With a modest flourish,
Shawn
