Ready for The Next Level

It’s been a whirlwind week filled with ideas about how Sir Richard Wadd is going to evolve to the next level, and get me one step closer to my dream of putting The Sacred Antinous into full-scale, uber-literary, triple-X production.

If you’re wondering what The Sacred Antinous is, check it out, here.

If you already know what I’m talking about, then you’ve probably just jumped aboard my train of thought and have realized that Sir Richard, being my pornographic alter ego, is slowly beginning to set his sights on the ultimate in queer spiritual awakening – Antinous.

This past week saw me take the plunge and begin the long-term, ongoing search for a steady stream of live-action actors who are willing and able to handle the kind of dramatic scripts that I want to meld with my pornographic explorations. In other words, I’m finally feeling ready to see Sir Richard’s Chronicles evolve from 3rd party license agreements into direct contracts between myself and actors who aren’t afraid to go into X-rated territory.

Naturally, this is going to require a considerable stepping up of my production capabilities. Over the past few months, I’ve been converting my little loft space into a versatile broadcast and recording studio, complete with semi-pro AV and lighting equipment. I’ve also witnessed my personal idea factory explode, as finally – finally! – all the pieces seem to be falling into place about how I can begin to integrate these two giant worlds that I’ve been constructing in isolation these past several years.

So I’m feeling extremely energized by the slate of projects before me. That being said, I fully expect that the search isn’t going to be easy. I suspect I’ll meet with confusion, resistance, uncertainty, setback, and frustration as I begin to work with real people who have their own (completely valid) ideas about how their bodies are to be interpreted. I’m certainly not afraid of that (and am, in fact, intrigued by the challenge), but it does mean I’ll need to be patient while I build the artistic capital that will ultimately lube the gears of a faster and more efficient production slate.

In the meantime, I continue to plug away at monologues, 1-acts, and full-length pieces under the umbrellas of both Sir Richard Wadd and The Sacred Antinous. The How and Where and When of their impending fusion is a multi-faceted answer and far too detailed to get into here. Suffice it to say that you’ll begin to notice small encroachments of each world into the other, until eventually they’ll exist in a perfect symbiosis (I hope!).
